What Trustpilot shows
Of the public sources available for this brand, Trustpilot is the largest and the least filtered. At the time of writing its page for zotabet.com shows a TrustScore of 4.2 / 5 across 345 reviews, distributed as 68% five-star, 10% four, 2% three, 1% two and 19% one-star.
That shape matters more than the average. A 4.2 built from 68% top marks and 19% bottom marks is not a "pretty good" casino; it is one where most sessions end fine and a meaningful minority end badly. The themes are consistent with that reading. On the positive side: withdrawals "without any hassle", money arriving "next morning", a site that "loads instant, no buffering, no freezes mid spin", and VIP managers who answer. On the negative side, almost everything is about verification and withdrawal — cancelled cash-outs, documents requested more than once, limits applied without a clear explanation, and the memorable complaint about the operator "continually moving the fence post".
Both halves can be true simultaneously, because they describe different stages. Payment rails are fast; the discretionary approval in front of them is not, and the terms give the operator wide latitude there — identity can be checked at any time, documents must be in a specified script, a video call can be demanded, and document checks may take up to 30 days.
What other reviewers report
| Source | What it reports |
|---|---|
| Trustpilot | 4.2/5 from 345 reviews; 68% five-star, 19% one-star. |
| casino.guru | Safety index reported at 8.5, "High", with a good user-feedback rating from about 29 user reviews. The page itself is unreachable from where this guide was written, so this is reported, not verified by us. |
| maplecasino | Rates it 4.3/5; counts 8,500+ games and 110+ providers; criticises the 40× wagering and the $1,500 per-transaction cap. |
| cashtocode | Counts 8,645+ games across 115 studios; notes "player reports of slow verification and held cash-outs". |
| mightytips | Reviews the sportsbook; measures a 7.1% margin overall and 5.23% on football; states there is no native app. |
| Sector reviews generally | Recurring complaints across sites: slow or repeated KYC, unclear bonus terms, and self-exclusion handling. |
Where a number in that table is not something we could check ourselves, it stays attributed. We do not average other people's scores into a score of our own — an average of unverifiable numbers is not a measurement.
Three published claims the operator's own pages contradict
- App A Canadian review page describes a "dedicated app for iPhone and Android". ZotaBet's own App Instruction page describes adding the site to the home screen from Safari or Chrome, and an international review states plainly that no native apps exist. The app page works through it.
- Sportsbook The same page states ZotaBet has no sportsbook. The operator publishes a full set of sportsbook terms and runs bet.zotabet.com with in-play, esports and VIP Bets. The sportsbook page shows what is there.
- Bonus Canadian pages headline C$10,000, the operator's own banner says 700% up to C$15,000 + 725 FS, and its bonus terms describe 100% up to €6,000 + 100 FS. Three shapes for one offer. The bonus page sets them side by side.
Why so many "ZotaBet" sites exist
Search the brand and you will find a cluster of domains that look official: zotabet.ca, zotabet-ca.ca, zotabet-ca.com, zotabet-casino-canada.com, a German-language zotabet.io. None of them is the operator. They re-host the operator's wordmark and rank for its name — and one of them, zotabet-casino-canada.com, serves a site logo that is not ZotaBet's at all but Cleopatra Casino's, which tells you how carefully that particular page was assembled.
The economics behind this are visible in the operator's own archived entry URLs, which carry tracking parameters from an in-house affiliate programme at zotatraff.com — stag and tracking_link values traceable to referrers including a UK free-bets site, a Norwegian bookmaker portal, a Canadian casino directory and an Austrian betting site. Affiliate revenue is not sinister; it funds most gambling content in every language, including this site, and our footer says so. What it does mean is that a page's enthusiasm is not evidence, and a domain name is not identity. Judge any page — this one included — on whether it shows you the document behind each number.
What we would want a reader to weigh
Real, licensed, and visibly so
Hollycorn N.V. is in the Curaçao regulator's public register under licence OGL/2023/176/0095, listed as "Indefinite" in the edition dated 14 August 2026. The catalogue is genuinely large — 131 studio brands on its own games page. Canadian rails work: Interac, CAD, an fr-CA site that is properly translated rather than machine-run. Support is 24/7 chat and email.
No Canadian oversight, hard ceilings
No AGCO registration and no entry in the iGaming Ontario directory, so disputes end in Curaçao. Withdrawals are capped at 1,000/day and 2,500/week; bonus winnings at €10,000; wagering is 40×. Verification complaints are the dominant negative theme in public reviews, and the terms permit exactly the practices players describe.
That is the whole assessment, and it deliberately stops short of a score. Whether those trade-offs are acceptable depends on how much you deposit, how quickly you need money back, and how much weight you put on having a regulator in your own province. If the answer to the last one is "a lot", the AGCO-registered operators in Ontario, the licensed Alberta market that opened on 13 July 2026, and the provincial sites elsewhere exist precisely for that.
